We bought a travel cot so our son could play in it, but he hated it.

You can’t go out on trips everyday, so its best to plan these dates and create activities leading up to them.
Like a trip to the zoo, drawing pictures of animals and having fun with photos of the visit can provide hours of fun after the event itself.
Always have a camera, a cheap throw-away camera is the best and not expensive if they get lost or damaged.
You could also try and save these activities for rainy days.
Always have a big pile of activities which you child can do if they get bored, coloring books, board games, story books, toys and puzzle books.

A children’s party can be a massive organisational task and if there are lots of children can get quite pricey. Every time you buy something for the party make a wise investment, buy things which you can use again. That way you can build up a collection of items which can be used every time.
Try and make decorations in the early years, then replace them with better items when you can in the future.
One of the difficulties is trying to keep up-to-date with your child’s favorite TV show or cartoon characters, which are always expected at parties. Ensure you know what they like well in advance and have a look at what items you can buy. If they aren’t too expensive and you think you’d struggle to create something similar you may have to buy the item.
